Napoleon Area Schools is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Varsity Water Polo (1/2) Coach as described in Job Description #406. The qualified candidate should be staff, student and community oriented. Communication, efficiency and time management skills are a must. Each candidate is required to have a current BCI/FBI, resume and application on file. Hours to be worked: 7 hours per day – Includes driving a regular a.m. (2 hrs.) and p.m. (2 hrs.)  route if needed & other duties as assigned by the Superintendent’s designee.

BUS DRIVERS NEEDED: Napoleon Area City Schools is seeking qualified applicants to fill the classified position for Bus Driver as described in job description #702.

Bus Driver - Regular:

  • Salary: Starting pay of $22.68 hr. for first 60 working days then $22.95 hr.
  • Salary: $16.50 hr. for extra trips
  • Guaranteed 4 hours per day (6:30am – 8:30am and 2:30pm – 4:30pm)
  • Paid Sick Leave
  • Paid Personal Days (3 per school year)
  • Availability for Medical, Dental & Vision insurance

Requirements to be a bus driver in the State of Ohio:

  • At least two years’ experience driving a vehicle.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), with a minimum of a Class B CDL, with the required endorsements of passenger, school bus and air brakes.
  • Pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing. *(at school district expense)
  • Favorable BCI and FBI background checks results.
  • Driving record check with no disqualifying offenses such as:
    • OVI (Operating a vehicle while intoxicated) or DUI (Driving under the influence) within the past 10 years
    • FRA (Financial Responsibility Act) Suspension in the past 6 years
  • Pre-employment and annual physical (Ohio T8 Physical) required. *(at school district expense)
  • 15 hours of pre-service classroom training for the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce (ODEW) Certification. *(at school district expense)
  • Minimum of 12 hours training with a district On Bus Instructor (OBI). The average being approximately 25 hours.
  • All bus drivers in Ohio must be recertified every six years.
  • All bus drivers in Ohio must attend an annual in-service training of 4 hours.
  • In addition to tests, trainings and certifications, bus drivers must meet certain mental and moral standards:
    • Good moral character and reputation
    • Ability to cope with stressful situations
    • Professionalism

*Note: Once fully licensed, the bus driver must commit to driving for Napoleon Area Schools for at least one entire school year, or they will be responsible to reimburse the school district for expenses noted above as school district expenses.

Bus Driver – Substitute:

  • Fill in when a regular driver is not available to transport students to and from school or to provide transportation for student field trips, athletic and other extra-curricular activities.
  • Salary: $22.68 hr. for routes
  • Salary: $16.50 hr. for extra trips

Substitute Pay has Increased!!

Custodial – Assistant Custodian Probationary rate (currently $18.28 per hour).

Secretarial – Probationary rate (currently $19.06 per hour).

Cafeteria – Assistant Cook probationary rate (currently $18.32 per hour).

Bussing – Probationary rate (currently $23.30 per hour).

Aide - Probationary rate (currently $13.31 per hour).

* Retired staff will receive an additional $1.00 per hour.

 

To become a Substitute for NACS, complete a Classified Application (located under Forms) on the Employment page of the NACS website. 

Each applicant is required to complete a BCI/FBI background check, and to submit a resume and application.  

Bus Drivers will need a Class B CDL license with air brakes, school bus and passenger endorsement or be able to obtain one.  Bus drivers must also complete a Bus Driver BMV Release form (available on the NAS website).

Aides will need to have an Educational Aide permit or be able to obtain one.

The Northwest Ohio Educational Service Center (NwOESC in Archbold)

along with Napoleon Area City Schools, 

are accepting applications for Substitute Teachers and Paraprofessionals.

NAS Substitute Pay Schedule as follows:

  • Aides – Probationary rate (currently $13.37 per hour).  Retired staff will receive an additional $1.00 per hour.
  • Teachers - $110.00 per day for 15 consecutive days and $115.00 per day for days 16-50 consecutive days (if you are a long-term sub); scale pay on the 51st day in the same assignment.
